Mahesh Bhatt to shoot an entire Bollywood film – a Hindu-Muslim love story – in Pakistan’s cultural capital.

The romance saga will star Pakistani singing sensation Noumad opposite an Indian girl who’s still to be finalised. The untitled film will be directed by Mohit Suri who had earlier made “Awaarapan” – a small portion of which was shot in Lahore.

“It is a pre-partition ‘Titanic’. It’s a story of intense love between two culturally-crossed individuals during times of abject hatred. It’s the story of a Muslim boy who saves the Hindu girl from his own people and gives up his life in protecting her,” Bhatt told IANS.

“We’re introducing a new star from Pakistan and a completely new girl from Bharat (India). The Pakistani boy is Noumad, a singing sensation in his country,” said the filmmaker who has worked with quite a few Pakistani artists, including actress Meera in “Zeher”.

This would be the first Bollywood film to be shot entirely in Pakistan.

Her talent is not really in question, but her luck and choice of films is.
After Black, instead of going for a variety of roles, which would showcase her talent, the actress chose instead to stick to banners like Yash Raj alone. With films like- Laaga Chunri Mein Daag and Thoda Pyaar Thoda Magic. Bhansali’s Saawariya did nothing to improve matters. The actress has sought divine help to overcome all the obstacles. She is believed to have undertaken a fast on every Thursday for 40 weeks, followed by a pooja at the Sai Baba temple in Shirdi. The actress has already been at it for the last three months. We just hope for her sake that it all works out fine for her.

Lara Dutta’s next release Blue, where Akshay Kumar and Sanjay Dutta the heroes of the film have been warring with each other, Lara has managed to maintain a friendly relationship with both of them. Sanjay Dutt is apparently reluctant to promote the film since Akshay has been given more prominence in the publicity. Lara on the other hand wants to make the most of the publicity campaign and has tried to keep herself free for the entire period.

Meanwhile, she will be shooting for Sajid Khan’s Housefull in London. The film also stars Akshay and Deepika, along with Riteish Deshmukh. Akshay and Deepika’s portions are already being canned and Akki will be heading back after his schedule to promote Blue when Lara and Riteish will be shooting their portions. But Lara would have none of it. She’s been doing her best to convince her producer Sajid Nadiadwala and director Sajid to let her go along with Akki for their film’s publicity. The two Sajid’s have told her that it will depend on how soon they wrap up their schedule.

Now Lara is busy working overtime and is being extra efficient on the sets just so that she can finish her scenes soon and head back to promote Blue.

When Salman Khan and his mother Salma went on Farah Khan’s chat show Tere Mere Beech Mein to discuss the subject ‘Mama’s boys’, a subject remarkably fitting for the Salman who still lives next to her and swears by her cooking.

A member of the audience revealed, “Though it started off as a Salman Khan show, it was soon evident that the star was Salma Aunty. She was candid and natural and stole the show from her superstar son. In fact, halfway through the taping, it felt less like a show and more like we had been invited into their home. She broke so many of Salman’s bhandas that at one point an embarrassed Salman actually didn’t know where to look even as the audience was very amused.” This is the first time that Salma Khan has appeared on any TV show.

Salman’s mother, dressed as simply on the show as she does in real life and refusing to wear make-up, spoke about his girlfriends without naming anyone and confessed she very much wanted to see him married and have kids. “He will make a very good father,” she said as Salman squirmed. Later, Salman and his mother danced together.

Farah admitted that they had taped the show recently and also called it one of the sweetest and nicest episodes but wouldn’t say more till the show was nearer telecast date.

The producers will give the film on a commission basis to international distributors.

The decision to release Kites on December 18 was taken after watching the film's final cut. Post-editing, the film is apparently an erotic feast.

The love scenes between Hrithik and Mori are sizzling and the producers have nothing to worry about.

Rakesh Roshan admits they're looking at December 18 as the worldwide release date for Kites.

"But there are details that still need to be worked out and I'd rather not talk about it until everything is in place," he said. Adds Anurag, "Yes, we are looking at the date. I've left the final decision to Roshanji and Eros."

Meanwhile, according to sources, Rakesh and Anurag had a difference of opinion over retaining a Barbara-Hrithik song.

Rakesh, weaned on commercial cinema, thought it was an USP, while Anurag thought it hampered the film's flow.

The only glitch is that Kareena has no dates and is busy through the next year. But the event organisers are hopeful that she’d make some time for them to spread some cheer in the industry and her fans.
